India will stay ahead of Asia in growth sweepstakes in 2017 also as 2018, said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) while keeping the country's GDP forecast at 7.2 percent for the current fiscal. In accordance with IMF's World Economic Outlook improve, India's growth is projected to accelerate to 7.7 per cent in 2018-19, from 7.2 per cent forecast for 2017-18.

India, however will continue to grow faster than China in 2017 in addition to 2018.
